The forces of Chaos are conspiring to make the band split up. Or maybe just to confuse us enough to play the best gig of our lives.. Some of us are moving out of London. However, after our first experience of playing out of London this weekend, this seems like a good thing. We are doing our best to sort this out so the band carries on. Its was a brilliant and surreal night and way too good to be a last gig. Thanks to everyone for giving us hope and telling us to cover Pantera, and the other bands for being generally ace. And if whoever ended up with the set-list reads this, the only explanation I can offer is that we were drunk on the train.. x :) Liz |

| ...the last instalment of the chronicles of Mirror Mirror.. |
[Sep. 22nd, 2004|02:45 pm] |
We are very sad to announce that because of personal problems and unavoidable decisions, the beautiful, pretentious, over-imaginative creature that was Mirror Mirror is no more.
We would like to thank and apologise to everyone who helped us, came to our shows, lent us equipment, conspired drunkenly with us, carried amps around late at night and generally had hopes for us. Speculating about how incredible things could have been is pointless, but putting our whole lives into something this creative for all these months has been its own reward, and will live on in our future projects, of which there will inevitably be many, of varying degrees of silliness...
Our last gig will be in Tamworth this friday night. We will make sure it has all the legendary drama, perfection, adrenaline & feedback that a last gig should...
After that, our songs will escape back into the static and tree-whispers from whence they came, improve their plans for world domination, then disperse to spawn new songs and new bands..

HILL OF TARA THREATENED
Tara, seat of the kings of Ireland and the veritable soul of Ireland itself, is threatened by plans to build a major motorway through the area. A large number of archeological sites will be immediately impacted by this decision, and a floodlit 34-acre highway interchange will be placed half a mile from the sacred hill itself.
You can do something about this really bad idea by going to
http://www.taraskryne.org/indexmain.html
run by the Tara-Skryne Valley Campaign.

Thanks so much for everybody who turned up to our strange and mysterious performance at Farnborough. As you know we were invited by the Campaign Against the Arms Trade to join them in their peaceful demonstration outside the Farnborough Arms Trade/ Airshow. Up for this kind of thing - we thought it would be a laugh so we went along. For more information on CAAT visit http://www.caat.org.uk.
The strangest thing is that the actual performance bit was lacking a little. What wasn't lacking was a few perfectly friendly conversations with her majesties police force, a damaged number plate, a terrified motercyclist and I suppose me completely losing my voice.
However on the plus side we got to see the wonderful town that is Farnbrough and manage to scare a few of the less friendly airshow visitors with our disturbingly long hair and perhaps slightly androgonous beauty. The police when stopping us thought that I was a girl. In photos Dan is the most androgonous of the two of us - but I think I am closer to a girl height in real life. Anyway I can confirm that I am certainly not a girl nor have I ever been one (excepting perhaps past lives of which I cannot be held accountable).
So apologies are needed for those who missed our playing. Hopefully we will come back to the area soon.
We have two more conventional gigs coming up and a whole load of trees that need drawing. The next performances promise to be excellent with a high turn out expected of our very first wave of fans and the debut performances of some new songs - one is an epic glam with a post-rock edge number while one is a shorter dancier track.
Sorry for writing so much,
Seeya all soon,
Jon ;-) |

| inspiration - |
[Jul. 17th, 2004|12:45 am] |
its strange.
I am back here clinging on to
the thing that kills me
happy in my passivity
and slowly
the cement is scratched off
easing my swollen back
although it is raining
I feel as when the sun
comes out to melt the ice off the flower beds
watering the dying plants and helping them breath.
***
where does the inspiration start?
today it started with a wagging tail
a physical sensation lost in evolution
before the tongue knew to talk
and the mind knew how to recognise itself
and I felt that I belonged to the universe and then
I knew that it was with me
